Pool Automation Repair and Installation in Phoenix

A pool automation system runs your pump, heater, lights, and spa. You control it all from one panel or an app on your phone. When it works, you don’t think about it. When the app stops working or the panel goes dark, nothing runs right. NextGen Pool Care repairs, installs, and programs automation systems from Pentair, Hayward, and Jandy for homes and businesses across the Valley. Call (623) 526-4945.

Systems We Work On

These are the systems we see most on Phoenix pool pads:

BrandSystemsPhone app
PentairIntelliCenter, EasyTouch, IntelliTouch, SunTouchPentair Home, ScreenLogic
HaywardOmniLogic, OmniPL, OmniHub, ProLogic, AquaLogicOmniLogic, AquaConnect
JandyiAquaLink, AquaLink RS, AquaLink PDA, iQ20 / iQ30 Wi-Fi modulesiAquaLink

Some older systems are still on a lot of pads in the Valley. We fix those too. We’ll also tell you when it makes more sense to upgrade.

Pentair IntelliCenter and EasyTouch

IntelliCenter is Pentair’s newer system. EasyTouch is on a lot of Phoenix pools built in the last 15 years or so. We fix both. Here’s what we get called for:

  • The app shows the system offline
  • The ScreenLogic box quit after a new router went in
  • Relays click, but the pump or lights don’t come on
  • A temp sensor reads wrong, so the heater won’t fire
  • A Pentair pump that won’t talk to the panel

Hayward OmniLogic and ProLogic

OmniLogic is Hayward’s full system. OmniHub is a small add-on. It puts a basic pad on the app. ProLogic and AquaLogic are older panels. They run a lot of salt pools here, since they work with Hayward salt cells. We fix:

  • Wi-Fi and app trouble on OmniLogic and OmniHub
  • “Check system” and “no flow” alerts on older panels
  • Salt readings that don’t match the water
  • Software updates and new schedules
  • A dead main board or screen

Jandy iAquaLink and AquaLink RS

Jandy’s AquaLink RS has been around a long time. It’s still common. Add an iQ20 or iQ30 module and it works with the iAquaLink app. We see:

  • The iAquaLink app says the device is offline
  • A blank screen, or “service mode” stuck on
  • Valves that won’t turn, so the spa won’t fill or won’t switch back to the pool
  • Jandy heaters and pumps that drop off the system

Signs Your System Needs Help

  • The app says “offline” or won’t load
  • The panel screen is blank, frozen, or shows an error
  • The pump runs at the wrong times, or not at all
  • The spa won’t heat or won’t switch back to the pool
  • Lights won’t turn on or change colors
  • The water temp reading on the panel looks wrong
  • The breaker trips when the system turns something on

What We Do on an Automation Call

We start at the panel. We check the power, breakers, relays, and main board. Then we check the parts the system runs, like the pump, heater, valves, and sensors. A bad sensor can look like a bad panel. For app problems, we check the Wi-Fi module and its signal. Lots of “broken” systems just lost their link when the owner got a new router.

Once we know what’s wrong, we tell you what it costs to fix. Nothing gets done until you say so. If we have the part on the truck, we can often fix it that day. Some boards and modules have to be ordered. If so, we’ll tell you how long it will take and get the pool running in the meantime if we can.

Setting Up Your App and Schedules

A lot of automation systems are set up once and never touched again. That often means the pump runs too long in winter or not long enough in July. We’ll set the pump, heater, cleaner, and light schedules for Phoenix seasons and get the app working on your phone. We’ll show you how to use it, too. We call that pool school. It’s part of how we work, and it means fewer calls to us down the road.

Repair or Upgrade?

If your system is newer, fix it. If it’s 15 or 20 years old, parts get hard to find. The panel may not work with new pumps or apps. Then an upgrade can make sense. Sometimes a small add-on gets you the app without a new panel. We’ll show you both choices.

On a new install, we mount the panel, wire up the pool equipment, hook it to Wi-Fi, and set the schedules. Our repair techs do most standard pool electrical. For bigger jobs, we bring in a licensed electrician.

Phoenix Heat and Electronics

Control panels sit outside on the pad, often in full sun. Heat is hard on circuit boards. So are monsoon power surges and dust. Bugs like to nest in warm boxes too. Many of the panels we fix in late summer died from heat, surges, or bugs. Shade over the pad helps a lot. So does a surge protector.

Common Questions

My app says offline but the pool runs fine. What’s wrong?

Usually the Wi-Fi module lost its connection. A new router, a changed password, or a weak signal out by the pad are the usual causes. We can reconnect it or add a signal booster.

Can you add app control to my old system?

Often, yes. Many Pentair, Hayward, and Jandy systems can take a Wi-Fi add-on. If yours can’t, we’ll talk about an upgrade.

Will automation lower my power bill?

It can, mainly by running a variable-speed pump on a smart schedule. See our pool pump repair page and our post on automated pool systems for more.

Can I control the pool from work or on a trip?

Yes, once the app is set up. You can turn on the spa on the way home, check the water temp, or switch on the lights for a party. If you’re gone for the summer, you can check that the pump is running.

Do you fix the heater the system controls too?

Yes. If the panel calls for heat and nothing happens, it may be the heater, not the automation. Our pool heater repair techs check both.
