Surprise has grown faster than almost anywhere else in the West Valley. Most of the pools we see out here are newer builds. Think neighborhoods like Marley Park and Sun Village. That changes what a weekly visit looks like.

Newer Pools Need Different Attention

Most new construction here comes with a variable-speed pump and a salt chlorine generator. Older homes usually had a single-speed pump and manual chlorine instead. The new setup needs less scrubbing. But it still needs someone checking the salt cell, the pump settings, and the filter pressure on a schedule. A lot of homeowners think newer means maintenance-free. It doesn’t.

Right Next to Sun City West

Surprise borders Sun City West. A good chunk of our schedule out here is retirees. They want a pool that just works without them having to think about it. Same crew, same day, every week. If a repair comes up, our repair team handles it. We price it out before we start. Pumps, heaters, filters, all of it.

Arizona’s hard water still applies out here too. Even a newer pool builds calcium scale if the chemistry isn’t checked. That’s part of every visit, no matter how new your equipment is.

Dust Is Part of the Deal Out Here

New subdivisions mean a lot of open desert nearby. Land that hasn’t been landscaped yet. That means more dust and debris blowing into pools than you’d get in an older, more established neighborhood. Filters on newer Surprise pools tend to clog faster than the manufacturer’s schedule assumes. We adjust our filter checks to match what we actually see out here, not just what’s on the box.

Wind picks up more sand out here than it does in a fully built-out neighborhood. If your pool seems to need skimming more than a neighbor’s pool in an older part of town, that’s usually why.

New Builds Still Need a Startup Check

If you just closed on a new build, don’t assume the builder’s pool company got everything right. We’ve found salt cells set wrong. Pumps running on the wrong schedule. Chemistry that was never balanced past the initial fill. A startup visit checks all of that. We’ll also show you where everything is on the equipment pad, so you know what’s what. It only takes a few minutes. After that, you can move to one of our weekly service plans. It’s better to catch it now than deal with algae or a burned-out pump a few months down the road.

How fast can you get out here for a green pool?

Usually within a day or two of your call, depending on the schedule. A green pool in a newer Surprise build is often just a chemistry problem, not an equipment problem, so it can turn around fast once we get out there and treat it.
