Pool Maintenance Service

Cleaning keeps a pool looking good. Maintenance keeps it running. Our maintenance service goes past the water. We check the equipment, the surface, the plumbing, and the safety features. We started out in the West Valley and Scottsdale. Now we cover the whole Valley.

It’s a lot to keep track of, so we’ve split it into six parts.

1. Water Chemistry

Good water protects your swimmers and your equipment. On every visit we:

  • Test pH, chlorine, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, and cyanuric acid
  • Adjust the chemicals to stop algae and bacteria before they start
  • Keep the water from turning harsh. Harsh water eats at heaters, pumps, and metal parts
  • Shock the pool when it needs it. That breaks down sweat, sunscreen, and other buildup

Want the details on how we balance water? Our chemical balancing page lists the exact ranges we aim for.

2. Equipment

Your pump, filter, and heater do the real work. We keep an eye on all of it:

  • Inspect pumps, filters, heaters, chlorinators, and automatic pool cleaners
  • Backwash or clean the filter, and replace the filter media when it’s worn out
  • Listen to the pump and motor, and look for leaks or strange noises
  • Check and lube the o-rings and seals so they don’t dry out and leak
  • Make sure your automatic cleaner is moving around the pool the way it should

That includes robotic cleaners. We don’t use robots to clean pools ourselves, but a lot of our customers own one, and we know how they work. Robots pick up a lot of dirt, but they don’t balance water or check equipment. We can check that yours is working and tell you if it’s causing a problem.

When something needs more than a tune-up, we tell you first. You’ll hear what we found and what it costs. Our equipment repair team handles the fix, usually on the next visit or sooner.

3. The Pool Itself

The plaster, pebble, and tile take a beating from Arizona sun and hard water. We:

  • Brush the walls, floor, and steps to keep algae and calcium scale off
  • Look for cracks, peeling, rough spots, and stains
  • Clean the tile and grout at the waterline

If we find wear that needs more than brushing, we can do an acid wash, a drain and refill, or tile cleaning in-house. We’ll tell you which one makes sense and when.

4. Safety Checks

A pool should be safe as well as clean. During our visits we:

  • Check ladders, handrails, diving boards, and pool covers
  • Look over the plumbing for hidden leaks, clogs, and worn parts
  • Test the pool lights and replace bulbs when they burn out

If your water level keeps dropping faster than it should, we can also do leak detection to find out why.

5. Help Between Visits

We’re happy to share what we know. We’ll give you tips for keeping the pool in good shape between visits. If you want to learn how your pump, timer, and controls work, just ask. We’ll walk you through it. Some owners never want to touch the equipment. Others like to know how it all works. Either way is fine with us.

6. A Report After Every Visit

You get an emailed report after each visit from the app we use to track our service. It lists the work we did and your water chemistry. It also lists anything else we noticed. If we think a repair or upgrade would help, it’s in there too. Your customer portal keeps it all on file, along with your past repairs and details on your equipment. You can see a sample weekly report here.

Why Maintenance Saves You Money

Most big repair bills start as small problems. A worn o-ring turns into a leaking pump. A dirty filter makes the pump run hot. Water that stays out of balance can ruin a heater. Catching these things early costs a lot less than replacing equipment.

Well-maintained equipment also runs better. A clean filter and a pump that’s set right use less power each month.

One Company for All of It

We’re a full-service pool company, and most of the work is done by our own people. That covers weekly cleaning and maintenance, repairs and new equipment, green pool cleanups, acid washes, and leak detection. You call one number, and we take care of it.

Busy pools need more attention. For short-term rentals we usually recommend twice-a-week service. Apartment and HOA pools often need service several times a week.

Common Questions

What’s the difference between cleaning and maintenance?

Cleaning is the skimming, brushing, and vacuuming. Maintenance adds the equipment checks, seal care, safety checks, and a closer look at the pool surface. Most of our customers get both on the same weekly visit.

How often should my filter be cleaned?

It depends on the filter and how much dirt gets in. Many cartridge filters here need a cleaning a few times a year. Pools near open desert or building sites need it more. We watch the pressure gauge each week and clean it when the pressure climbs.

Do you work on salt pools?

Yes. We check the salt level, look at the salt cell, and clean off scale when it builds up. Salt pools also tend to push the pH up, so we keep a close eye on that. We wrote a whole post on salt cell scale and hard water.

Can you look after my pool while I’m gone for the summer?

Yes. A lot of our customers leave for part of the year. We keep coming every week, and you’ll get the emailed report after each visit. If something breaks, we call you before we fix it.

Do you service spas too?

Yes. We check the spa’s water, heater, and jets along with the pool. Spa water changes faster because it’s smaller and hotter, so it gets its own test.
